A New Year, a New Beginning…

Filed under Blog category 1, Uncategorized by Susan Scarlett on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011
The New Year is always a time to look forward to. What could be better than a fresh start – a brand new beginning full of possibility and limitless potential? To help you optimize and invite the opportunities into your life, I’ll share with you what I do.
  1. Write down your goals and read them daily. Your own self-direction will guide you to exactly where you want to go. Be clear and be specific, include a realistic time-line.
  2. Embrace the Attitude of Gratitude. It’s really easy to get caught up in our hardships and the state of the world, but it is so important to look at your life, the people in it, and really be of thanks.  Surround yourself with others who share this attitude. Being appreciative for the simple things in our lives offer the greatest peace we could ever imagine.
  3. Reinvent yourself – or simply make that change you’ve always wanted to. It can be as easy as a new haircut. Shake it up a little and have fun doing it! Get a cheap volumizers boubous and get a complete makeover this year.
  4. Most importantly, own this year. Make it your opportunity to always ‘Shine’! Know that you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to sparkle… you’re worth it everyday.

The Greatest Gift is The Present Moment…

Filed under Blog by Susan Scarlett on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010
Well the Holiday season is fully upon us now; and with only a few weeks until Christmas arrives, no doubt we are all busy running around trying to “get it all done“.This time of year when things are so rushed and the days are flying by (almost at warp speed), we need to remind ourselves to slow down just a bit in order to fully appreciate all the beauty of the season and what REALLY matters most so that we can take in all the miracles around us.  As the saying goes: “the greatest gift is the present moment“.
Whether it’s being surrounded by loved ones and spending time with family and friends during the holidays, or simply sharing with others; taking time to appreciate these special moments and the true meaning of Christmas will make it memorable for years to come.  As this year comes to an end, it’s fun to reflect back on 2010 and all that we are grateful for in our lives… And as we look forward to 2011 a brand new year lies ahead of us, full of potential and possibility!  How exciting!

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON…

Filed under Blog by Susan Scarlett on Monday, November 8th, 2010

DSCN3230It’s hard to believe that November is upon us; it seems like summer was just yesterday we released  e-newsletter! The retail stores have got the Christmas trees all lit up and the holiday decorations are out in full force (come to think of it Costco had the stockings hung long before Halloween even arrived!). So the countdown is officially on. I don’t know about you, but when I hear how many days there are until Christmas Day, and the numbers are getting smaller and smaller, I start to panic a little. I know, you’d think it would be easy for me, just give everyone on my list jewelry, right? Well, yeah…

Seriously though, this is the time of year when our lives get hectic. People get busier, work gets busier, even the roads get busier (on top of all that construction going on). And those “to-do” and “to-get” lists get longer and longer. It’s a challenging time of year for sure. How do we keep up with the fast pace and maintain some semblance of balance and harmony when things start to get so hectic? Well, I am working on mastering that one myself, but I do know the importance of taking time out for yourself to recharge your batteries. Do something you enjoy: take a walk in nature, do yoga, read a good book… whatever it is that makes you feel revitalized and renewed.

If you read last month’s newslatter, you know that I never finished medical school and I did not become a doctor. But, as corny as it may sound, jewelry is my ‘medicine’. Jewelry is what I ‘prescribe’ to make a woman look and feel positively radiant! Go ahead, try it… Before rushing out the door, put on a pair of sterling silver earrings or that favorite necklace and you’ll be amazed how de-lightful a simple piece of jewelry can make you feel! It really does wonders.

And if you need help with your holiday shopping, we’re here for you. At Indigo Star we have something sparkly for every gal on your list; if you can’t decide what to get her, we always have gift certificates available. We’ll even wrap it up and ship it for you. Let us make your holiday shopping as it should be: easy, stress-free, and full of shine.
